Sponsorship Opportunities
The Army Museum of Western Australia Foundation is offering a unique opportunity to businesses and individuals to take a positive step in preserving and promoting the history of West Australians in international conflicts.
2010 will be of particular significance to the museum since it will be the 100th anniversary of the Artillery Barracks and as such, it would be a perfect time to become associated with the many events planned for the year.
Benefits for Sponsors:
- All sponsors become members of the Army Museum of WA Foundation.
- All sponsors will be acknowledged permanently on a board at the entrance to the museum.
- All sponsors, subject to negotiation, will be able to use the Museum and its displays for promotional purposes.

- All donations are tax-deductible.
- Large contributions may be spread over a number of financial years.
All potential sponsors are encouraged to contact the Museum and arrange a special briefing on the plans for expansion.
Details of various forms of sponsorship are outlined below.
Gallery Sponsorship
For an organisation who wants to be acknowledged as a permanent major contributor to the museum then the Gallery sponsorship is the ideal opportunity.
The expansion of the Army Museum provides for four Gallery Sponsorship opportunities as the program calls for completely new Post 1945 Gallery, World War 2 Gallery, and Colonial-Boer War galleries plus a major refurbishment of the World War 1 gallery.
As each gallery is developed there will be a number of formal occasions when the gallery sponsor will be the focus of proceedings. This is in addition to the prominent location of the gallery Sponsor at the gallery and at the entrance to the museum. In the past year the museum had over 9000 visitors and this year's figures are running at twice that. The new galleries in themselves will attract considerable media and public attention.
In addition to displays at the museum gallery sponsors logos will be on the formal museum letterhead and all display advertising. Gallery sponsors become honorary members of the Foundation and receive VIP invitations to all museum functions.
As you can see from the Gallery Development Program, the cost of developing a new gallery will usually exceed $500,000. A gallery sponsor would be expected to contribute a significant proportion of this amount.
Event Sponsor
Over the period of the Appeal, the Foundation will be conducting a number of large public fund-raising events which represent further sponsorship opportunities.
As an example the Foundation will be conducting a Band Concert at the Perth Concert Hall in April 2010. The special guest will be Marina Prior. This will be widely advertised and the event sponsor will feature on all event advertising.

Army Museum Band Concert 2006
Event sponsors will receive permanent recognition at the entrance to the Museum.
Event sponsors become members of the Foundation and receive VIP invitations to all functions.
Costs associated with the events such as the Band concert range from $20,000 to $50,000 and event sponsors would be expected to contribute a significant part of this amount.
Display Sponsor
The opportunity exists throughout each gallery for an organisation to be identified with a particular part of a gallery or facility. The new galleries will need additional features such as air-conditioning, security systems etc. Other sponsors may wish to be associated with a particular display such as the WW1 nurses.

Display sponsors will be acknowledged by discrete labelling at the display and prominent recognition at the entrance at the museum.
Display sponsors become members of the Foundation and receive VIP invitations to all functions.
Costs associated with a particular display or facility can range from $2000 to $100,000 and display sponsors would be expected to contribute a significant proportion of the cost.
Museum Sponsor
There are many opportunities for an organisation to become a museum sponsor. These can range from a direct cash donation to a contribution in kind that reduces the cost of a particularly activity.
All contributors will be acknowledged at the entrance to the museum.
Sponsors who contribute more than $100 become members of the Foundation
